I did have quite the rant planned for a post today. And then I thought I should do my weekend update first (it was a busy one)......
And then I got an award! (you can't group a rant and an award in one post, and putting it with an update would be way too long....so all that stuff is being put off)
I got this award from Nicole at That's Life, so first of all, a big thank you to her.
Here's what's needs to be done to accept the award:
These are the guidelines to accept this award.
1) make a post about the award, mentioning the person who gave it to you
2) put the award on your blog
3) Give award to 10 sweet bloggers
So the 10 bloggers that I pass this award onto are:
1) Ella at Here.There.Everywhere
2) Brown Eyed Girl at Live, Laugh, Love
3) Pinkbilly at A Little Splash of Pink
4) Jennifer at Books, Recipes and Life, Oh My!
5) Chocolate Lover and A Chocolate Lovers Confessions
6) Christine at A Leap of Faith
7) Sorority Girl at Confessions of a Sorority Girl
8) Patriotic Princess AG at Patriotic Princess AG
9) Carolyn at Life, Love & Puppy Prints
10) Lauren and Style Me Glamorous
That was actually really hard. I love all of the blogs that I read, but I could only choose 10.

Favourite Friday - Couple That Didn't make it.
So while the fiance is busy playing DJ hero, I thought this would be the perfect time to do my Favourite Friday Blog.
Jen's topic for this week was couple that didn't make it.
I was torn between two for this one. I finally decided on these two:
They are just so darn cute. And I can't say I'm the BIGGEST fan of Angelina. I kinda took the home wrecker approach to that whole thing.
A VERY close second would be:
I was so upset when the announced the separation. They were always the kind of couple you imagined being together forever.
Head over to Jen's blog if you want to play!
In other news, thank you all so much for you comments about my dress!
I showed it to C and my mom last night, and they liked it just as much as I do (which is good because I REALLY didn't want to return it.)
Here is a picture of me wearing it. (excuse how crappy I look. It was right after work, so my hair is a mess, my makeup isn't quite done. And I believe I'm yelling at C to just take the picture and that the lighting doesn't matter.)
So even though I look horrible, you get the idea. I still love the dress just as much as I did in the store, and I'm so excited to wear it to SM's wedding.
Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect shoes.
I am also trying to find a good tutorial online that will show me how to curl my hair with a straightening iron.
Any suggestions??

Some Changes
Hello All!
As you can see I have made some changes....again. I didn't think my blog title had very much to do with my blog. When I started blogging, I had no intentions of this becoming a "wedding blog" but I have noticed that that is exactly what it has become. So I wanted the title of my blog to reflect more about C and I, as well as our journey together, basically all of the things that I write about. I also figured that since I changed the title, I may as well change the look. I promise I will try to leave it alone at least for a month.
So yesterday was quite and interesting day in Ontario. The weather was crazy, having everything from and earthquake, to a downpour to a tornado all in one day. The tornado I only found out about today, so it really didn't affect me (although scary nonetheless) but the earthquake I actually felt. I was napping with B and all of a sudden the couch began to shake. It didn't last long, and I really only felt about two tremors, but I have to admit it scared me. Coming from a place that doesn't experience these things, one does not really know what to do when it is happening. I actually had no clue what was going on, and thought I was going crazy until I got a message from C asking if I felt the earthquake. I then, of course, started freaking out and he had to call me and talk some sense into me.
I also went out dress shopping last night with my sister and V for a dress to wear to SM's wedding. I don't know how much I have talked about this wedding, but it is at the end of July. I'm very excited (not only because I LOVE weddings) but because the guest list includes some old friends that I haven't seen in quite some time, so I am looking forward to catching up. I tried SO MANY dressed on yesterday, and nothing was working. I was getting very frustrated. I found one little black dress at Fairweather, that was cute, and looked fine, but it was $100.00 which I thought was way too pricey for what I was getting. Then I stumbled across this at Suzy Shier:
I instantly fell in love. It was exactly what I was looking for, but my sister and V didn't look convinced, so I left it and continued looking. I didn't find anything else and of course this dress was still sitting on my mind. So I decided to buy it, bring it home and show it to C and my mom, if they agreed with My sister and V, then I could always return it. I hope they agree with me, because I love it. I'm already imagining shoes to go with it. That's definitely next on my list. Anyways, I figure I will put the dress on for them tonight, so expect pictures shortly.
And of course, SYTYCD was on last night. My front runners haven't changed. I still LOVE Kent. He's just so cute and almost awkward, I can't help but adore him. My favourite dance of the night had to be Adecheke and Allison's contemporary. And someone that stood out for me this week, that I didn't mention last week was Ashley. I really liked her number last night.
Did you notice anyone this week, that you didn't notice last?

I Just Finished Reading.
Hello All
I did have a weekend post all planned out in my head, and now I don't remember it (I really should start writing these things down). I literally cannot think of one thing that I wanted to say other than the fact that I am COVERED in mosquito bites from a late night soccer game, in which I decided to wear a jean skirt and wedges to.
So instead, I am going to do a review of sorts on Emily Giffin's "Love the One Your With".
I was REALLY excited to read this book. I've seen many people read Giffin's book both through blogger and good reads, and had not heard a bad thing about them. This book has left me a little conflicted. I wouldn't say I hated it, but I also wouldn't say I liked it.
The book was interesting. It held my attention, and I wasn't dying to just finish it and move on, which is always a good sign. On the other hand the narrator, Ellen, really bothered me. I found her whiny, selfish and really the cause of all of her problems. Due to this, I found I couldn't relate to her or the plot overall.
I think there were a few reasons for this. The first being that I could not relate to the story at all. In the book Ellen runs into an old flame, which leaves her all conflicted and confused with her current relationship with her husband. This got me thinking about my old flames, and I really don't have one that would effect me in that Way. I have been dating C since I was 16, so I suppose he would have been that guy had we ever broken up. So, because of this I found her extremely selfish and really annoying for actually considering (and almost acting) destroying a relationship with a next to perfect man (in my eyes) for someone that didn't treat her all that great. This feeling also became more intense when she began to whine, in what seemed like every chapter, about the intense guilt that she felt about her own actions.
Reading "Love the One Your With" has left me in a little predicament. As I said, I have heard amazing things about Giffin's novels, but this one left me a little disappointed. So my question for those of you that do read Giffin's work: Is this a constant theme in all of her novels? Should I try another one? and if so....which one?!?

Favourite Fridays: Pop Star
It's that time again!
This weeks favourite Friday topic is Pop Stars. And this is when I have to make a confession. I was a HUGE Backstreet Boy fan.
So cute.
These boys were the equivalent of my life in middle and high school. I went to every possible concert, you didn't know what colour my wall was because it was covered in posters. So even though the phase is over now, they will always hold a special place in my heart.
If we're talking more recent pop stars I would have to say Taylor Swift.
I.Love.Her. She is so talented. I just recently went to her concert, and it was amazing.
I have been known to drive to work many mornings (including this one) blasting her CD and singing along.
I also have a certain respect for Britney Spears. I think despite her flaws (many of which have been blown way out of proportion by the media) she is a talented artist.
Head over to Jen's blog to play along.

SYTYCD
Hello All!
As you can clearly see, I have changed my blog. Now that blogger has made this so simple, I will have to be honest and say that this will probably happen more often than not. I get bored easy. This does not bode well for C when we buy a house. I'm the type of girl that will want to rearrange all the furniture monthly. And paint yearly.....
....but anyways....
I have been meaning to blog for a couple of days now, but I kept forgetting my cord to upload photo's at home. Meaning that I couldn't show you all this:
This is a peanut butter pie, a recipe I got from Fashion Meets Food. If you guys are looking for recipes, you should seriously check her out. She posts food ideas daily, with great stuff, such as this one.
So my reason for making this was that my sister was hosting a partylite party on Sunday (a party in which a bunch of women get together and but candles, for those of you who don't know) and I thought this would be the perfect occasion to try this recipe out. This way I could try it, and C and I wouldn't be forces to eat the whole thing. So I headed out Saturday night after work and gathered all of the ingredients. Let me tell you (this is coming from a non cook) how super easy this recipe actually is. There is literally no bake time, just mixing the ingredients and refrigerating. That is definitely my kind of recipe. And overall I think it turned out really well. I had to replace one of the ingredients because apparently in Canada it is next to impossible to find hot fudge topping. So after discussing it with C and my brothers girlfriend, we decided to melt semi-sweet chocolate squares and use that. It worked well, but I do want to eventually try it the way it is supposed to be done. Either way, the pie seemed to be a party hit, and I'm pretty proud of myself.
Moving on to So You Think You Can Dance. I am obsessed with this show. I have watched every season, and I'm pretty obsessive about it. Last night was the first performance show, and I was really impressed. They are doing it differently this year, as they brought back "All-Stars" from previous seasons, and this is who the contestants will dance with every week. I was unsure about this idea at the beginning, but after last night, I have decided I really like it.
So I figured this week I would show you who I think the front runners are. This will probably become a weekly thing, like I said, I'm obsessed. So after week one my favourites are:
Billy
His dance to footloose with Lauren was amazing.
Adechike: For some reason Google is not giving me a picture, but he danced with Katherine in a red dress. The judges trashed it but I thought it was really good. He struggled in Hollywood week, but I think last night he showed he deserved to be there.
Lauren: Again, can't find a picture. She danced with Ade. She has been my favourite since she auditioned. She is SO talented. Again, the judges weren't overly impressed last night, but I think that is because they know what she is capable of.
And last but not least Kent: He is probably not even close to one of the best dancers there, but he is so cute that I can't help but love him.
And some of my favourite All Stars are:

A little bit of Everything
Like usual, this post is going to be scattered, and probably long. Just giving you early notice.
Let's start with the weekend (I'd like to point out the the update is coming early, and I am slightly patting myself on the back).
This weekend was the first quiet weekend that I have had in what feels like forever. I really don't have a whole lot to say about it.
Saturday I worked from 9-6. I don't know if I have mentioned my crappy retail job yet. There really isn't a whole lot to describe other than I hate it more than anything else in the world and I am counting down the days to graduation when I can quit! So yeah, 9-6 at said job, working customer service, is enough to drive anyone nuts, meaning that Saturday night involved me putting on comfy clothes, renting movies with C and watching them cuddled in bed. We rented Valentines Day and Wolfman. Valentines Day was decent. I thought it could have been MUCH better given it's huge cast, but all in all it was cute.
Wolfman.......
....I fell asleep after about 10 minutes. So I couldn't tell you.
Sunday was a bit more busy. I had a really nice day with my mom. Me and her get along really well, but with me in school, working two jobs (technically), planning a wedding and maintaining an active social life, along with the fact that she owns and operates her own business, means that time spent together is sometime very spread out. We took my eldest niece K for her dance pictures (so cute! pictures will be posted as soon as I get them), went to Costco to pick up some pictures and then went home for Barbeque with my daddy. After that I met C and some friends for a pick up soccer game (I did not play, and actually wore the cutest blue and white high heels to the game to make sure I didn't have to).
Like I said, it was a well needed, nice, quiet weekend.
Other than that, C and I have seen some movies that I have yet to review.
Last weekend we Saw Shrek. Before I start, I need to mention that I LOVE this series. I normally fin myself leaving the theater in tears because I have been laughing so hard. This one....not so much. I was actually REALLY disappointed. I don't know if the characters have gotten old, or if the writers have run out of funny material but it just wasn't up to it's normal standards in my opinion. I can think of maybe two moments when I was laughing hysterically (I won't ruin it) and that's about it. The rest of the time I was sitting there hoping (praying....begging....) that it would get better, and it just never did. We also did not see it in 3D. Maybe that makes a difference??
We also went on a triple date with friends to see Prince of Persia. This was the complete opposite of Shrek. I did not want to see it AT all. I was mad that i was being dragged to yet another movie that I had no interest in. Well I'm am officially apologizing to C and my brothers girlfriend, pinkbilly, because this movie was awesome. It was like Pirates of the Caribbean in Persia. Lots of action, good storyline and of course a love story (that gets me every time). If you like the Pirates series then you will like this one, so go see it.
Other than the endless movie updates, I just took the cutest photo that I thought I would share
How cute is she?
B decided to become a mini homeboy for the day (no, I did not pose her like this). I feel like the more time I spend with these two, the more I realize that they are growing up SO fast. K is graduating from kindergarten in a matter of weeks. I feel like it was just yesterday when she was two days old and I was walking her all over the house, begging her to go to sleep. I just want to push pause and keep them this way forever (I can guarantee that my sister wholeheartedly disagrees)
But anyways, I'm getting sappy, I think that's enough of the random posts for today.

Favourite Friday - Movie Trilogy
Jen's favourite Friday topic this week is movie trilogy.
This one was easy. Hands down it is.....
Great story line and I always find them both interesting and hilarious. Also, putting Johnny Depp in any movie makes it an automatic winner, but grouping him with Orlando Bloom is definitely going to add bonus points.

My current three favourite magazines are:
And of course, because of the wedding, I'm currently addicted to.....

I have some catching up to do....
Hello all!
I have been such a crappy blogger! I'm not going to even try to make excuses this time. It's just pure laziness.
I guess I will start with a bit of a rant. My enrollment date for 4th year is tonight at 6:30, and it has caused me nothing but headaches thus far. I have learned from my three years at York, that they get pure joy out of making everything as complicated as humanly possible. We all make our own schedules yearly, and we all need to make sure we have all of the requirements per year to graduate, with little to no help from the faculty. Obviously, being that I do want to graduate in April of next year, this year I need to be 100% positive that everything is in order. You would think that a university would make this simple. Nope. We have a bunch of core courses that we need to have, along with several electives. Through this, we need to have a certain amount of credits from one area and a certain amount from another, without any crossovers or problems.
I have literally spent the past week sitting in front of my computer with a million tabs opened, as well as 2-3 course books on my lap, trying desperately to figure out what exactly I NEED to graduate. Frustrating? YES! I am finally at the point where I am 99.9% sure that I only need my fourth year credits to graduate, now I need to make all of them fit. York also makes this next to impossible. They put the core courses right in the middle of the day, covering a three hour slot. They also put most of the English credits in the same time slot, so literally anything remotely interesting, that is actually worth taking, doesn't fit. UGH! I'm at the point where I figure I will just wing it at 6:30 and whatever I get, I get.
Ok...Rant over.
I added the goodreads tab at the side of my blog today all by myself. Pretty proud of myself actually. I didn't have to argue with C to get it done.
Other than the great York war that I am in the middle of, I have been on the hunt for vases to help me create my perfect centerpieces and have come up with a few options.

But these ones twist, so they are fun
Any opinions?
