Cook with Cambell's

So I have been sucking at this lately. Two jobs, school, a wedding, fiance and new puppy don't leave a whole lot of time for blogging. Thank goodness for reading week!!!

I feel like I need to do a thoughts on Tuesday post because I have so much randomly floating through my head and I probably won't remember half of it by the time Thursday roles around!

I'm sure most of you have seen the new Cambell's campaign, advertising the cook with cambell's website. C and I have been diligently trying to eat at home because a) we don't have the money to eat out every night and b) this wedding is approaching quickly and I would really like to still fit into that dress I just bought in 15 months time. This means that I need to pull my weight in the cooking department as a lot of the time I'm home first and can have dinner finished by the time C walks in the door.

Enter cook with Cambell's. I've said this on here before and I'm sure I will say it again. I. don't. cook. C, on the other hand, is amazing in the kitchen. The boy can seriously look at a recipe, look at what we happen to have in the pantry at the time and wing it, and it always turns out perfectly. When I cook, it isn't like that. I need guidelines and directions, so naturally, any recipe that promises both quick and easy has my undivided attention.

So far, I have successfully made two recipe's from this site, both of which C and I loved, and both of which honestly didn't require a whole lot of effort on my part. LOVE.

I'm going to share my favourite of the two recipe's so far, and I will continue to share the ones that I especially like in the future.

2 Step Tomato Chicken Mozzarella

Ingredients

    • 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
    • 4 (about 1 lb/500 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • 1 can CAMPBELL'S® Condensed Tomato Soup
    • 1 tsp (5 mL) dried oregano leaves, crushed
    • 1/2 cup (125 mL) shredded Mozzarella cheese

Directions

  • 1. Brown chicken well in heated oil at medium-high heat in large skillet.
  • 2. Add 1 can Campbell's® Condensed Tomato Soup mixed with dried oregano leaves, crushed. Simmer, covered, until chicken is cooked through. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese.
I didn't take any pictures, but trust me it was SO simple and very easy.

If your like me and you really don't have the time or patience for the whole cooking thing I recommend checking Campbell's website out!

Exciting News!!

This weekend I checked a big item off of the wedding list. I bought my dress!!!!!

I was talking to my mom about a month ago about dressed and what exactly I was looking for. This, of course, got me searching endlessly on the internet for dress inspirations. I stumbled across a picture of a dress and fell in love (I can't post pictures because C does occasionally frequent this blog). I e-mailed a bridal shop close to my house that carried the dress and inquired about the price (I do have a budget and I wasn't willing to put a dress on that was ridiculously above it) and lucky me the price was perfect!

So three Sundays ago my mom, sister and I went to try on the dress at the salon I had been in contact with. They didn't have the dress! Apparently me contacting them and asking about the price of a specific dress and only making an appointment after I got it does not indicate that I wanted to try that specific dress on.

We had already driven out there so I did try on other dresses, but it was obvious that I wasn't going to buy anything because my heart was still set on the dress I had seen on the internet.

So we left empty handed and I contacted another place, a little further, that also claimed to carry my dress. This time I was smart and made them guarantee that if I made an appointment and came in that they would 100% have a sample of the dress for me to try. They did and this Sunday my mom, sister and I headed out.

I tried on three dresses before THE dress, and thought I was screwed (for lack of a better word) because I liked two of them exactly the same. We finally got to the dress that I had seen, and I put it on and honestly (not to sound cliche) knew. I love this dress. I was even more confident when I came out of the change room and my sister burst into tears (keeping in mind this was probably the tenth or eleventh dress she had seen me in).

So I found my dress!! I'm very excited. Now the hard part is going to be waiting until November to put it on again!!

Thoughts on Thursday

One of my favourite bloggers has been doing this for a while now, and recently made it a weekly feature. I have been wanting to join, but haven't found the time. Until today!

1. It has been almost a month since I last updated. I have no excuse. Other than life being crazy

2. Just because I haven't posted, doesn't mean I don't have a constant stream of potential blog post running through my mind at all times. Want examples...
  • Wedding - There are a lot of things happening here (including my first experience dress shopping!!)
  • Jobs - I started a working a couple of times a week for my mom who owns her own business. The money is good, but I'm exhausted
3. We got hit hard with snow here. Yesterday seemed to be an international snow day for everyone....except me. I already had the day off from school, and I work retail. retail closes for nothing

4. Due to the above point everyone in my class right now is currently well rested......except for me. I feel like I got hit by a truck

5. Brady is getting SO big. I have no idea when this happened. It was like all of a sudden my cute puppy is now a dog. A 30 pound dog who seems to think he is a lap dog despite what I tell him each and every day

6. Seeing as we're on the topic of Brady, this is a picture C sent me yesterday

....at least someone likes the snow!

7. I am currently on a hunt for a printing company that will make me pretty and cute invitations for a reasonable price. Suggestions?

8. Oh and remember the centerpiece hunt? Yeah we are still no closer to solving that problem

9. Monday was my engage-aversary (pretty sure I just invented a word). Two years ago on Monday C proposed to me. This means I get one more of these anniversaries until I become his wife!

I think that's it for the random thoughts floating around in my head today.

This was fun! If you want to join be sure to head over to Carolyn's blog, Life, Love and Puppy Prints
