A Sad Post

I have been juggling back and forth about whether or not to post about this, and have decided that I sort my thoughts so much better by writing them down, so I'm going to apologize in advance for being depressing.
The dog is Max and the Cat is patches, and we had to put them both down last night. Before I go much further, they were both pretty old. Max had some form of Cancer, we never really did get much of a straight answer from the vet, and Patches was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and wasn't looking good either. My parents decided to do it all at once.

I haven't been through this before, and I have to admit that I never thought it would be this difficult.

I always knew losing a pet was difficult, but I never fully understood people that put it on the same level as losing a family member. I do now.

I guess I'm going to put my great writing degree (almost) to work here when the only word I can use to describe it is that it kinda really sucks.

I guess that didn't help as much as I thought.

So sorry to hear about your pets. We had to put our dog down years ago and it was very very very difficult. Hang in there though. It gets better.

*hugs* I know how much pets can be a member of the family. Don't beat yourself up for grieving, they are members of the family and it's hard. Hang in there, Chocolate Lover is right, it does get better.

:( I'm sorry to hear about Patches and Max. They were very loving, and I know they'll be missed. All you can do is remember the good times, and that way they will still live on.

Certainly a sad day... Time heals everything... But you'll never forget a pet's mannerisms or unique characteristics...
