It's been over a month since you last heard from me. I'm blaming school.
I did have a wonderful post planned about how I am officially done school, and all my big plans for my future. And then Saturday happened.
To be honest, I wasn't sure I was going to post about this at all but I have had far to many sleepless "what if" nights since then and am hoping that writing about it will get it off my chest and I can move forward.
Saturday started normally. I went out in the morning and got a grad mani/pedi with my mom, worked for a bit in the afternoon, then Chris picked me up and we headed to Swiss Chalet to meet with friends before seeing a movie.
The details after this point are a bit skewed. All I can say with complete certainty is that things went from fine to crazy in less than a second. I remember talking about weddings. I remember beginning to laugh about the fact that my friend owns two wedding dresses, and the face that her husband made when this fact came up. Then I remember realizing I couldn't breathe. I was choking on, what I believe to be a tiny piece of chicken.
This is where Chris comes in. All I can say about this man is that he definitely does not panic under pressure. He realized I was choking, had me upright, did the Heimlich, and had the chicken out in probably a matter of 30 seconds. I can also say that time slowed right down and it was the longest 30 seconds of my life.
Being cut off from oxygen is probably my biggest fear, and after Saturday it's about 50 times worse. I was terrified. My whole body was shaking for probably 45 minutes after it was over and I completely lost my appetite. I'm also playing the "what if" game. "what if Chris had lost it. What if we were in a booth and not at a table and I couldn't get up as quickly. What if the chicken hadn't moved. I know this is pointless, and not what happened so there is really no need to think about it, but apparently this is how I deal.
I can also say it's getting better. It's not a constant topic anymore, I'm fine, minus a bit of a sore throat the day after.
I'm alive, and the only person I can thank for that at this point is the man I'm going to marry.
On a lighter note, I was alive enough to attend Yoga for the first time with the bestest last night and I now feel like a truck ran over me. Several times. Someone who does this on a regular basis PLEASE tell me it gets easier....

It has almost been...
Two weeks since my last post!! What have I been doing???? Here's a list:
1) Essay: I had a paper due today, so the better part of the last week has been spent stressing over that
2) Getting Sick: I currently feel awful. I am living on Apple Cinnamon tea from Tim Hortons, and the fiance has been wonderful about going to get it whenever I want. As I type this I am in my PJ's (yeah it's 4:00 in the afternoon...so what?), in bed and watching "Save the Last Dance." I become rather pathetic when I'm sick.
3) Wedding: I have a few updates, but I'm hoping to actually do a Wedding Wednesday post on Wednesday and update then. We shall see
4) Trip: We leave in a week and a half! Passports are here, hotels are booked, tickets have been purchased. I'm slowly getting really excited. I need a vacation
5) Birthdays: My beautiful niece K turned 6 on November 10th (insert a pouting auntie here). Yesterday we had her birthday party at a play place by my sisters house. Yes, I was sick. No, 10 screaming children did not help. I do have to share the awesome cake the my sister's friend made. This is the same friend that made B's circus cake for her 2nd birthday here. This cake was Barbie's Corvette

I failed at taking this photo, but the inside of the car came complete with seats, a steering wheel and gear shift
and of course one of the birthday girl herself. Happy 6th Birthday K!!

7) Readings, readings and more readings!
8) Spending time with friends: We went to a small house party on Saturday. We had a great time catching up with good friends
9) Working!
I think that is pretty much everything. Hope everyone else had an awesome weekend

I'm Currently Addicted to...
Toddlers and Tiara's
Although the thought of spray tanning a 3 year old is extremely disturbing....
...thoughts??
And So You Think You Can Dance? Awesome.
I didn't blog about it last week but Alex's hip hop with Twitch was AMAZING. I was expecting a train wreck, but it was SO good. Favourite number of the season so far, hands down. I'm very upset that he is injured after that, and I'm hoping that he makes a quick recovery and is back next week.
Last nights episode was also really good. I'm at the point where I'm having trouble picking a favourite because they are all so good.
My favourite number last night was Lauren and Kent's contemporary. But they have been my favourites from the beginning, so seeing them dance in their style, together, was heaven for me.
I'm having a bit of bloggy writers block lately. I just don't feel motivated to post anything. I have wedding updates for you (very frustrating circumstances!) and of course we've been to see some movies that I could review, as well as some books that I've finished reading. But I just can't seem to force myself to do it. Maybe it's this heat wave that's making me so lazy!
Anyways, this was just a quick post to let you all know that I'm still alive, and that I do still sporadically blog. As well as to keep you all updated on how I keep my life exciting (Toddlers and Tiara's and SYTYCD......Awesome!)
Hopefully I will have you all fully updated by the end of next week
